PLTW Engineering Essentials students tackle designing innovative prototypes
Students from PLTW Engineering Essentials were tasked with building a device that could transport emergency supplies over a simulated distance of 30 feet, mimicking a washed out bridge or road during a natural disaster on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
They were provided with a random assortment of materials such as index cards, latex balloons, pipe cleaners, and straws before designing, building and testing their prototype. In the coming weeks, students will explore the roles and responsibilities of various types of engineers, describe contemporary engineering issues, and identify positive and negative impacts of solutions to these issues.
