Important Upcoming Dates

Our 2023-24 School Year has only two months to go. We are preparing for numerous events of interest:

Wednesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 6th: Caps & Gowns will be distributed in the High School Auditorium during all lunches

Tuesday, June 18th @ 6:00 PM: Senior Banquet at City Winery

Thursday, June 20th @ 3:00 PM: Senior Field Day Activities

Thursday, June 20th @ 5:30 PM: Senior Class Barbecue

Monday, June 24th @ 7:00 PM: Senior Class Scholarship Awards
(Held in the High School Auditorium)

Tuesday, June 25th @ 10:30 AM: Mandatory H.S. Graduation Rehearsal

Tuesday, June 25th @ 7:00 PM: Class of 2024 Graduation (Held at our Athletic Field)
Rain date: Wednesday, June 26th @ 7:00 PM (if needed Thursday, June 27, 2024 @ 7:00 PM

Senior Banquet Guidelines:

Alcohol and Drug Free; any student under the influence will be excluded from the W.H.S. Graduation Commencement.
No one will be readmitted once they depart.

Senior Awards Evening:

All members of the Class of 2024 are invited
Scholarship Award recipients will be acknowledged
Grades 9-12 Academic Certificates will be presented June 5th.

Graduation Rehearsal and Commencement:

Rehearsal will be conducted on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 @ 10:30 AM ATTENDANCE is mandatory. At this time, you will receive Graduation Invitations (Tickets)
Rehearsal instructions will be forthcoming. Our Class of 2024 will enter the ceremony in alphabetical order.
Each Class of 2024 member will receive 8 Graduation Invitations (Tickets). If the second rain date is required (June 27, 2024) and inclement weather remains, the graduation ceremony will take place in our gymnasium. In this instance, ONLY 4 tickets per family will be accepted. The tickets will be color coded for that purpose.
Graduation evening: students should arrive at 6:00 PM and proceed to their designated location for line up. Upon conclusion of the ceremony, students should proceed to the same classrooms/locations to receive their physical diploma.
Reminder: This is YOUR special evening. Please continue to conduct yourself with proper behavior. We represent the entire Washingtonville School Community. BE PROUD OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS!

Important Note:

Diploma & yearbook names: We will be utilizing SchoolTool as the base for how the student’s name will appear on their diplomas and alongside their senior yearbook photograph. With that in mind, should a student have a middle name listed on SchoolTool, it will be included.

Further, should a student have a middle initial listed on SchoolTool, it will be included.

Lastly, should a student NOT have a middle name or middle initial listed, it will NOT be included.

Seniors, please take a moment to look at your SchoolTool account to ensure that your name is how you would like it on your diploma and alongside your senior yearbook photograph.

Additionally, please check that the spelling is as you would prefer, as well as any hyphens. Should you require a name or spelling correction on your diploma and alongside your yearbook photograph other than what is listed in SchoolTool, please let Mrs. Heins in the main office know by January 31st.

Information Regarding Cap and Gown Purhcases

Cap and Gowns are ordered via our graduation vendor Jostens. You can order just a cap and gown or you may order a graduation package.

As per Jostens, the cost of your cap, gown, tassel, and stole is $42, prices do go up later in the year... purchase on time for the best price! Caps and gowns will be shipped to the school and distributed prior to graduation.

We kindly ask you to please take the time to order your child's cap and gown. If you have any additional questions regarding this, please feel free to contact the principal's secretary, Mrs. Heins.
