A Warm Hello from Your New Principal

Dear Washingtonville High School Families and Community,
I hope this message finds you well, enjoying a restful and peaceful summer. My name is Robyn Boardman, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Washingtonville High School. It is with great excitement that I join this vibrant school community, a place with a rich tradition of pride, excellence, dedicated educators, and an engaged, supportive community.
As an educator, I have spent the past twenty-four years working in public education, serving as a secondary mathematics teacher at Monhagen Middle School in Middletown, then as an Elementary Mathematics Coordinator and Elementary Assistant Principal, and High School Assistant Principal for the Monticello Central School District. My experiences have shaped my deep belief that every student deserves to be seen, challenged, and supported in a safe and inclusive environment. I am passionate about helping young people grow into thoughtful, confident, and capable citizens who are prepared for life after high school.
In addition to my professional life, I’d like to share a bit about who I am outside of school. I’m a proud mom of four wonderful children who keep me grounded, inspired, and busy! As a parent myself, I understand the importance of strong home-school partnerships and the trust you place in the school each day. I am also a sports fan, a lifelong learner, and someone who truly enjoys being involved in the community whether it’s attending a local event, cheering on students at a game, or simply having a conversation in the hallway.
At the heart of my leadership philosophy is collaboration. I am committed to listening, learning, and working closely with students, staff, families, and community partners to continue building on the strengths of Washingtonville High School. I value open communication, high expectations, and shared ownership of our school’s success.
Over the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting many of you at school events, meetings, and around the community. My door is always open, and I welcome your insights, questions, and feedback as we begin this exciting journey together.
Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve already received. It is truly a privilege to serve as your principal, and I’m eager to get started on what I know will be a meaningful and rewarding school year.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Robyn Boardman
Principal
