WHS students raise awareness for breast cancer
Washingtonville High School students recently participated in the Making Strides Against Cancer Walk held at Woodbury Commons on Sunday. The event raises funds that support breast cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
The WHS Wizards Against Cancer Club led by co-advisors Nina Giordani and Erin Calovic, were joined by the Washingtonville football players, cheerleaders, swim & dive team and their families, as well teachers, retirees and WHS assistant principal Robert Shust.
The WACC raised $1,146 for the American Cancer Society and extends thanks to those who contributed, especially Ashley Scelia who teaches at Little Britain Elementary School and donated $455 from her T-shirt sales proceeds.
